summer cold funnies

We stayed home today since Sydney has a summer cold. The day has been full of pbs, knitting, some cranberry, choc chip oatmeal cookie making and a lot of Sydney funnies. Here is a taste:
  • When told she could not kiss "baby 'lias" because she has a cold, she burst into angry tears (the kind that don't make you feel sorry for them). I told her she needed to go to her room if she was going to be grumpy. She replied, "No! I want to cry for a minute! I want to cry right here! I don't want to cry in my room!"
  • When she dropped a cup of water on the floor, she grabbed her stuffed lion, stuck his face in the puddle and said, "He's thirsty. He'll drink it up." I went ahead and got a towel anyway.
  • While I was upstairs trying to get a fussy Elias to fall asleep, she "decorated" my favorite chair with blue marker. Lots of it. I asked her why she did that and she said, "Sorry, Mom" in a tone that said "I just couldn't help myself." I asked her what she should color on instead and she said, "Um. Um...NOT Mommy's chair!" When Nick walked through, she matter of factly said, "I colored on my Mommy's chair. I'm sorry."
  • There were many more, but this is why I'm not nuts at the end of an entire day inside the treefort with a snotty faced 2-year old and a fussy little guy who didn't really want to nap today.

She is looking so much older, Tiffany! I LOVE the stuff that comes out of their mouths at this age, it is so funny and precious all at the same time. Even when they are coloring on your chair (sort of).
