We had a too fast weekend in Seattle, visiting with my family for Levi's second birthday. It was such fun having a fall feast together, walking around Greenlake, eating at my beloved Zeek's pizza, celebrating Levi's two whole years at a beautiful park (my camera was forgotten in the car) and just driving around taking in the familiar sights of my/our old stomping grounds. No matter how long I'm away from Seattle, it feels so familiar and cozy while we are there. Especially while in a real coffee shop or Trader Joe's..
My kiddos are officially small town beings, with their huge eyes at all of the cars and tunnels and bridges on our way into town. Sydney says she is going to go to SPU, just like mama, and she says she'll ride the purple bus to school (we saw one on the highway) and she also promised to come visit mommy and daddy when she's a big girl. Write that on your calendar, folks, so we can hold her to it later on.
And, we were able to have coffee with my dear friend, Amy! yay! It's so fun to be in the company of a long-time kindred spirit, who is always refreshingly real and honest and generally marvelous. She also took the family photo of us below that will likely be seen again on our Christmas card. What? The whole family looking AND smiling?! We really do love you Amy!

The family photo at the end of the post is WONDERFUL!! You're right, it's almost a miracle with little kids when everyone smiles and looks good in a photo. I love it. I am in NJ mixing my new CD . . . fun to think about you in Seattle. Sometime, when you come to the west side for a longer period of time, we'd love to have you come for lunch and playtime at our house. Maya would love to see Sydney (and I have to admit, I'd also like to have a mama date with you!). Blessings, friend.
