Oh, Oregon, how we love thee...

We took an epic journey to the Oregon Coast this past week and although we are pooped out, we are all feeling the marvelous after effects of a good vacation. aaaahhhh.

On the way had such a sweet visit with Nick's Aunt & Uncle and Grandma. By the time we'd driven through his beautiful old stomping grounds replete with wineries and berries galore, spent such a lovely time with his family there at the farmer's market and eating all the yummy food Aunt Chris cooked, I was ready to move.
Then, we trekked to the Coast and had a great time flinging "smushy sand" --dry, not wet and cold-- all around, walking on the beach for hours in the mornings to keep our early riser out of the sleeping house, eating Tilamook ice cream most days, walking through the shops and even having a date during naptime one day. It was a refreshing break from normal life. Sydney had so much fun playing all day with Micah and Elias laughed in pure joy every single time he saw his Auntie. There was so much more to report, but I don't want to write a novella here.
As the grand finale we stopped to see our dear friends Matt & Juli who we sorely miss living near and we had a fun-filled afternoon riding the tram to OHSU, riding the trolley to a get afternoon treats followed by play time in the fountain outside their condo and then the sushi we'd been dreaming of since we left home. It's good to have friends; it's even better to have soul friends who come packaged as a couple.

Then, as we were dreading driving home to our work and chores, we took a big walk with the kids through Lake Oswego and were nearly tempted to move there too. But now that we are back in the Treefort, cozy and clean, I think we'll keep the sweet little life we have here. But, if we have to make a change, Oregon here we come!

What great pictures! I especially love the one of Elias and the log on the beach.
