anticipation

(Sydney and Lisa)
I love the anticipation of fun things to come. Two of my teaching buddies from Seattle came to visit for a few days and I was skipping around giddy for the two days before they came. It was worth the anticipation! I loved being able to sit around (with margaritas and morning coffee) and talk and talk and talk and show them some of the fun in our area in the time we had left. And, fun for me means food. And with girlfriends that means the co-op or The Green Frog in Palouse. So fun!

(me, Sydney who is keeping an eye on Brody, and Jackie)Sydney has always been a friendly girl, but has recently seemed to really be able to sense who our friends are and shower them with affection. Before my friends left, Sydney took a break from adoring Lisa's sweet pup, Brody, and gave Lisa and Jackie both some sweet love that included resting her head on each of their shoulder's and making loving sounds. It warmed my heart to say the least.

Sydney's newest words after the visit? "sshh, quiet" (pronounced kite) and "Brody!" (pronounce Broeee)

And now, my dear friends have returned back to Seattle, but we now have the excitement of my family's trip to Redfish hanging in the air. I bought Twizzlers for the trip and ate a bunch of it this afternoon to celebrate the nearness of vacation.

Hi - Looks like you had fun! Just wanted to stop by and say hi after you stopped by my blog and commented on one of my One Local Summer posts. If you spend any time at the co-op or the farmer's market, then you're well on your way to transitioning to more local foods. :) Also, I read that you are(were) a HS English teacher? That's great. We (my foodie buddies) are all grad students in the English dept at WSU. Must be something about food and books ...
