This was Elias' first official Halloween--one in which he was allowed out in a costume to beg for candy. He mastered walking and climbing steps just in time!
.
We, as is the custom, went over to Sarah and Tim's for a yummy meal before heading out into the cold and it was all so cozy and wonderful that I kind of just wanted to do our candy begging from the bowl in the middle of Sarah's table. But, the kids were amped, so off we went!
.
I love that our whole little town converges on one little section of town (not really even all that central) and the rest of us leave our lights off knowing no one is coming anyway. Elias and Cate were too cute waddling about in their costumes and thrusting out their chubby hands for treats. A few times I thought Elias was going to wander into the house for a cup of cider and it reminded me of the Halloween just before Sydney was two and she kept going into people's houses, looking around as if to say, "Nice place you got here," and then plopping down to dig through her candy. Sydney nearly died of joy yelling, "Grace, Eliot!" about every 5 seconds as we trick or treated. I honestly think a night in costume with her buddy-cousins was way more exciting than the candy loot.
.We had such fun with our little Tinkerbell (wearing pink cowgirl boots) and our little dragon who learned to say, "rar!" for the occasion. Sometimes having little kids is ridiculously fun.
